During humoral immune response or infections, subsets of B-cells migrate to germinal centres in lymphoid follicles located in the lymph nodes and the spleen. Some of these germinal centre B-cells (GC B-cells) differentiate into memory B-cells and plasma cells. Understanding the biology of GC B-cells is crucial as they are not only important for the immune response but have also been implicated in many B-cell lymphomas. Given the complex mixture of GC B-cells undergoing several different transitional states, single cell transcriptomics is an effective way to study them. Check out this webinar to learn about how the BD Rhapsody™ system was used to study the transcriptome of normal and lymphoma-associated GC B-cells at the single cell level.
